Policies and Procedures

Diva Dog Grooming strives to provide all pets with a top quality grooming experience. In order for our grooming appointments to be as stress free and safe as possible, please review and abide by the following polices:


SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:

  • All waivers and agreements will be signed and dated prior to services being rendered.

  • Clients will provide a valid credit or debit card which will remain on file. The card on file will only be charged in accordance with the policies contained herein, or by customer request.

  • Clients unable or unwilling to provide a card on file shall prepay the estimated service cost for all grooming appointments, with any balance paid at the time of pickup.

  • Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Returned checks will incur a $12 service fee.

  • Clients give Diva Dog Grooming the right to take, publish and use photos and/or videos of their pet(s), before, during, and/or after services for promotional and educational purposes.


HEALTH AND SAFETY:

  • Dogs over 6 months old must have a current rabies vaccination at time of service, and a copy of rabies certificate or veterinary vaccination record showing the due date for next rabies vaccination shall be provided prior to services being rendered. Clients are encouraged to discuss appropriate vaccination and parasite prevention with their veterinarian before entering the establishment. Diva Dog Grooming will not be held liable for any transfer of disease or parasites to any animal in or around the establishment.

  • Animals with obvious illness, injury or recent surgery may need veterinary approval to be groomed. This includes, but is not limited to open wounds, rashes, lameness, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, parasites, dental decay, or stitches. Diva Dog Grooming may request written clearance for grooming services from a licensed veterinarian. Dogs showing signs of illness or injury may be denied services or rescheduled at the stylist's discretion.

  • Clients agree to save and hold harmless Diva Dog Grooming and it’s owners, operators, employees, officers and directors from any damage, loss or claims arising from any pre-existing condition of the undersign’s pet either known or unknown to Diva Dog Grooming.  The terms, special services or handling shall include, but not be limited to, veterinarian emergency services, boarding, care taking and /or transportation. In the event that an emergency should occur with client’s pet, or in the event special services or handling are required as deemed necessary by Diva Dog Grooming in the care of said pet, Client agrees to pay all such costs.  Said damage, loss or claim shall include, but not be limited to, death or injury. Said pre-existing conditions shall include, but not be limited to, matting, advanced age, extreme nervousness, neurosis, illness, malformation or previous injury. 

  • Animals with fleas will not be groomed. Appointments will be rescheduled only after pets have been treated and are found to be free of fleas.

  • Pregnant or nursing pets will be evaluated on a case by case basis. In the event of a known or unknown pregnancy, if the pet or her litter are effected by the grooming process, client shall hold Diva Dog Grooming harmless for those effects.

  • Diva Dog Grooming does not utilize muzzles, mid-section, or full body restraints without prior approval of clients, and only under limited circumstances. Any pet needing such restraints for more than 15 minutes may be deemed by Diva Dog Grooming as unsafe to continue.

  • Services may be suspended or canceled for animals showing extreme fear, stress or aggression, or for animals with limited physical ability due to advanced age, obesity, or physical impairment, at any time or that Diva Dog Grooming feels would be unsafe to continue. Suspended services shall be billed at the normal rate and clients shall pay all applicable fees.

  • Clients may not assist with any part of the grooming process, including handling their pet or any grooming tools while services are being performed. Diva Dog Grooming shall not be liable for any injury to clients caused by grooming tools or animals.

  • Any claim of accident, injury, illness, or death to pet(s) resulting from the grooming process shall include release of accompanying veterinary documentation, to be provided to Diva Dog Grooming directly from a licensed veterinarian. Client shall release their veterinarian and veterinary clinic staff to provide any related records, billing statements, diagnosis and treatment plans to Diva Dog Grooming. 


APPOINTMENTS:

  • If you are unable to make the appointment you have booked, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. We will happily re-arrange your booking.

  • If you do not turn up to the appointment, cancel with less than 24 hours notice or arrive 15 minutes or more late, your card on file will be charged for the missed appointment at the regular estimated total service cost. A new appointment will need to be made.

  • Clients will be given an estimated time for service completion. Please be prepared to collect your pet in a timely manner. Clients shall arrive to collect their pet within 30 minutes of being notified of service completion. Clients whose pets remain in the salon beyond 30 minutes after completion will have an extended stay fee added to their account, at a rate of $1 per minute, per pet.

  • Pets remaining in the salon beyond the close of daily business (5:00 pm) may be turned over to City of Duluth Animal Control or another local licensed pet rescue organization. Clients shall be responsible for the collection of their pet from this third party, as well as any fines or fees assessed. Clients shall have their card on file charged for the total grooming service fee, including any extended stay fees, by Diva Dog Grooming.

  • Multiple late cancelations and/or no-shows may result in refusal of services.

  • Appointments canceled/rescheduled by Diva Dog Grooming will not incur an extra fee.

  • Weather or emergency related cancellations are at the sole discretion of Diva Dog Grooming, and will usually follow Duluth Public School cancellation/late starts.


I, the undersigned, acknowledge and accept that I have been provided with all of the proceeding policies and procedures, that I fully understand them, and that I will abide by the stipulations set forth therein.
